After a rather tough play, General Velásquez's Anselmo Johans got a free kick in the 12th minute. Rolf Holmgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baran Sarka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17thth minute of the game Baran Sarka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but General Velásquez's Rolf Holmgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of General Velásquez booed when Ríver Late was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dolfo Clemente didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Ríver Late's Geovani de Salles got control of the ball when Jorge Vicente Squella tried to sneak it across the goal line. Claudio Echeverri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Rolf Holmgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rolf Holmgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baran Sarka in the 25th minute of the match. Claudio Echeverri took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolf Holmgren. Rolf Holmgren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Manuelo Oñez y Loyola scored 1-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geovani de Salles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Claudio Echeverri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Vicente Squella in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geovani de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

General Velásquez's Rolf Holmgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Echeverri in the 59th minute of play. Claudio Echeverri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Claudio Echeverri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Rolf Holmgren made a huge save. In the 71st minute, Claudio Echeverri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ríver Late fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After 77 minutes, Clemente Tuñon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the General Velásquez and the Ríver Late players grew even worse after the yellow card. Clemente Tuñon hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emiliano Gai got free with Rolf Holmgren in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolf Holmgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Skytt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the General Velásquez defense, Carl Skytt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolf Holmgren. The General Velásquez fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolf Holmgren should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd minute Carl Skytt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolf Holmgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
