Delmar Katia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bart Vetter in the 13th minute of the match. Paulo Teinturier struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Florent Travers was slow to take the kick. During this time R.C. Marseille's players had a chance to rest. The corner led R.C. Marseille's Florent Travers to fire away a dangerous shot which Delmar Katia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save R.C. Marseille from getting a goal against them. Gustave Lechat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Lordi in the 38th minute of play. A collision led to pciclon getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Teodoro Lordi hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Bart Vetter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Delmar Katia was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Filiberto Pietro was the one to do the kick off. Marseille's Bart Vetter ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Delmar Katia. Delmar Katia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2.

R.C. Marseille's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
