Chaponnay FC's Charly Boisson got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andrea Xuereb in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Csongor Kun, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 12th minute of the match, Lawrence De Marco tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Csongor Kun saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Amadeo Rapinett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charly Boisson, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After 18 minutes of play, Attard Gunners's Andrea Xuereb made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Csongor Kun was left in no man's land by his defense there! Renaud Houzet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeo Rapinett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renaud Houzet in the 27th minute of play. Chaponnay FC's Evan Le Moullec got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Chaponnay FC booed when Attard Gunners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franco Curmi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrea Xuereb could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Csongor Kun made a huge save. After 38 played minutes Chaponnay FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduart Rrustemi. Andrea Xuereb came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Csongor Kun could save by the left post. Csongor Kun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lawrence De Marco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evan Le Moullec to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Attard Gunners's Amadeo Rapinett got control of the ball when Charly Boisson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute Andrea Xuereb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Csongor Kun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeo Rapinett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevan Brossier in the 69th minute of play. If Lawrence De Marco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Csongor Kun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrea Xuereb, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When William De Lucca fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Attard Gunners's protests and gave William De Lucca a yellow card for diving instead. Charly Boisson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeo Rapinett having to make a save. Chaponnay FC made a substitution. Gaston Hurtaud replaced Darren Bour. The supporters of Attard Gunners booed when Chaponnay FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevan Brossier didn't get a good kick on the ball.
