In the 24th minute, Marius Pascaru made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Feodor Vostrikov struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Aron Bleoancă came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Cristi Rogozea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 89th minute of the match Feodor Vostrikov sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball.
