Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Arsenal FC's Damaso Orlin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pål Brun's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pål Brun helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Arsenal FC got a freekick which was hit by Pål Brun. Songur Yoran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 6th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Songur Yoran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Arsenal FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Songur Yoran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Arsenal FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Songur Yoran came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Songur Yoran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Matthias Löfgren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Matthias Löfgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Songur Yoran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Damaso Orlin in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Songur Yoran having to interfere. When Einar Hedström came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Arsenal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Einar Hedström couldn't finish the play. Damaso Orlin struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arsenal FC. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 50thth minute of the game Damaso Orlin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 50th play minutes Damaso Orlin shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Julio Vera and just under the crossbar into goal. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damaso Orlin's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. The audience was convinced that Damaso Orlin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Orlin in the 67th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Songur Yoran having to interfere. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute, Damaso Orlin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Arsenal FC's goalkeeper Songur Yoran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. After 86 minutes Arsenal FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Songur Yoran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 94th minute of play forced Arsenal FC's goalkeeper Songur Yoran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
