Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Songur Yoran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Arsenal FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 37th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Songur Yoran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Songur Yoran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Arsenal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frands Thygelund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Songur Yoran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of play.
An unexpected shot in the 51st minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Orlin in the 58th minute of play. After 61 minutes, Pål Brun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arsenal FC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Arsenal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pål Brun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 64 played minutes Arsenal FC got a freekick which was hit by Damaso Orlin. 65 minutes into the match, Arsenal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Songur Yoran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Songur Yoran made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Songur Yoran was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 2-1. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Songur Yoran made a huge save. In the 83rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Arsenal FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Antonio Arias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Songur Yoran having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Einar Hedström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arsenal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Einar Hedström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matthias Löfgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Arsenal FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
