Francisco Seco made the kick off and thus started the match. If Bock Fortington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolph Mcinnes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Milan's Joaquin Gayoso threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dacosta Johnson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Adolph Mcinnes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Adolph Mcinnes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Camilo Franco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dacosta Johnson's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dacosta Johnson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dacosta Johnson to maneuver through the defense. Uruguay were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Milan's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Cazalla took the corner. 23 minutes into the match, Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Adolph Mcinnes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 minutes of play, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adolph Mcinnes was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Milan booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Beldad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dacosta Johnson in the 35th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dacosta Johnson. After 43 minutes, Francisco Seco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the Milan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Francisco Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes in the game Charles Goodward did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Pierre Lowes. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Jorge Sainz got a free kick in the 48th minute. The Milan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Uruguay were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dacosta Johnson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Alberto Gisbert hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Milan's Rudy Addison broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After having played for 61 minutes, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hank Malacarne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Milan's Adolph Mcinnes got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th match minute, Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Larkins Garing to maneuver through the defense. Milan's Adolph Mcinnes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Milan from getting a goal against them. Joaquin Gayoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pierre Lowes went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Hank Malacarne put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudy Addison didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adolph Mcinnes. Francisco Seco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. The Uruguay supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Uruguay would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
