A sloppy throw-in by Basílio Maranhense in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Luca Espinar. Walmyr Linhares was a little too slow when Sebastian Villa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 0-4. Moises Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Walmyr Linhares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. The referee ignored INTER FC's protests and gave Humberto Secco a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute of the game Basílio Maranhense made a throw-in which Hortêncio Linhares played forward. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Honduras's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
