An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 30th minute of play forced Atlético Grau Piura's goalkeeper Cesario Pedulles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Atlético Grau Piura's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the last second Cesario Pedulles throw himself and got hold of the ball when Tomas Berganza in the 71stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlético Grau Piura's Cesario Pedulles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 85th minute of play. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alberino Cortez fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Grau Piura's protests and gave Alberino Cortez a yellow card for diving instead. Alberino Cortez hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Grau Piura's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cesario Pedulles came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atlético Grau Piura's Cesario Pedulles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 94th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Atlético Grau Piura's goalkeeper Cesario Pedulles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isidoro Sarmiento. Panama played a much better game than Atlético Grau Piura and deserved their victory. The Atlético Grau Piura players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
