In the 66th minute, Roberto Ocampo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute, Narciso Mattei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cesario Pedulles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Venezuela's Roberto Ocampo got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cesario Pedulles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 86th minute. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Atlético Grau Piura's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Atlético Grau Piura supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Venezuela's performance. The match ended with a win for Venezuela.
