The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 34th minute of play forced A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of USA booed when A.S. Udinese was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberigo Di Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, A.S.
