Didi Mello hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 7 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto Sandoval came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Sandoval in the 9th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Didi Mello was slow to take the kick. During this time Clube do Remo MZ's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Mexico booed when Clube do Remo MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiaguinho Mandrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baal Grunberg. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wachirapong Wattanachinda saved Clube do Remo MZ from getting behind. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Clube do Remo MZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Baal Grunberg kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Sandoval, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baal Grunberg got free with Dante Lacasa in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Baal Grunberg scored 1-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Baal Grunberg took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Clube do Remo MZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Clube do Remo MZ's Wachirapong Wattanachinda did a great save. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wachirapong Wattanachinda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute Baal Grunberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiaguinho Mandrak in the 80th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wachirapong Wattanachinda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 83 minutes Clube do Remo MZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. In the 85thth minute of the game Baal Grunberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 86th minute of the match Clube do Remo MZ got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Didi Mello ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baal Grunberg in the 87th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 89th minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Wachirapong Wattanachinda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Alberto Tafalla took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Wachirapong Wattanachinda to make any attempt to save it. Clube do Remo MZ's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
