With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Bartolo Basualdo sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Bartolo Basualdo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thiago Pliego was a little too slow when Torbjørn Trondsen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 2-0. A collision led to Deportivo Popolizio FBC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Geir Søfteland hit a great ball. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermann Hesse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Felix Garrido's late challenge caught a Deportivo Popolizio FBC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Garrido helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Felix Garrido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. Mariano Lacasa came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hermann Hesse could save by the left post. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Mariano Lacasa took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Hermann Hesse to make any attempt to save it. Deportivo Popolizio FBC made a substitution. Tibor Nyilasi replaced Bartolo Basualdo. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Gaizkine Ibern was substituted for Nils Gielis. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tibor Nyilasi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Deportivo Popolizio FBC booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Carballar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! 92 minutes into the game, Guillermo Fontirroig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chile's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Popolizio FBC the free kick. Guillermo Fontirroig kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match.
