In the 14th minute, Mexico's Luca Rouco fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Denis Calvino was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. After a rather tough play, Atlético Villa Gesell's Eriberto Aztore got a free kick in the 17th minute. The supporters of Atlético Villa Gesell booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Mancebo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th match minute, Atlético Villa Gesell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Sal to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Calvino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Villa Gesell's Denis Calvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Atlético Villa Gesell's Cornelio Ixidor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Dario Bingen made the kick off in the second half. Denis Calvino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 51st minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Cornelio Ixidor came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hipolito Feliu kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Facundo Cadaval notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Atlético Villa Gesell's Denis Calvino.
