Underdogs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Reşat Orgunalp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Marco Day made a huge save. 14 minutes into the game, Monty Rogers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Brak Gola was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Apostolis Arvanitoyannis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Cassius Byrne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brak Gola having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Reşat Orgunalp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Reşat Orgunalp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Monty Rogers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrzej Budzyn in the 28th minute of the match. When Edward Mcdonald came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Mcdonald couldn't finish the play. Reşat Orgunalps short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Marco Day to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Andrzej Budzyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. Cassius Byrne took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brak Gola. Brak Gola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 40th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brak Gola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrzej Budzyn in the 46th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrzej Budzyn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 53rd minute of play forced Underdogs's goalkeeper Brak Gola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute Reşat Orgunalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Cassius Byrne sped through Underdogs's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Brak Gola. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apostolis Arvanitoyannis in the 66th minute of the match. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud van Nistelrooij, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. 71 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Reşat Orgunalp came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edward Mcdonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brak Gola having to interfere. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud van Nistelrooij, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Jenson Smith was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. USA's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ruud van Nistelrooij in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Underdogs's Brak Gola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Underdogs from getting a goal against them.
