PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Örjan Björkdahl in the 16th minute. A nice corner shot did that Edgard Dubardo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rolando Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Osomo saved PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John Osomo was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. John Osomo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Peru! When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ.
