After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Marcel Maxim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Marcel Maxim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 5th minute of play forced TS Wisła Kraków's goalkeeper Jurand Panasewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by TS Wisła Kraków's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Jurand Panasewicz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Adam Arnista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Arnista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. TS Wisła Kraków's Jurand Panasewicz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save TS Wisła Kraków from getting a goal against them. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Marcel Maxim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
