Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Arnoldo Columbo kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Gaudencio Gervaso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Sidro in the 21st minute of play. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gaudencio Gervaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of the match. Nestor Hug's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Arnoldo Columbo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Onagoity AFC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaudencio Gervaso came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gaudencio Gervaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute of the match. Onagoity AFC's Rolando Sidro got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 43 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Onagoity AFC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Arnoldo Columbo hit a great ball. Nestor Hug received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Nestor Hug slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rolando Sidro to strike the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gaudencio Gervaso made a huge save. Gaudencio Gervaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Onagoity AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 62 minutes into the match, Onagoity AFC's goalkeeper Gaudencio Gervaso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When Nestor Hug came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Onagoity AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Hug couldn't finish the play. Onagoity AFC's Amancio Artizar was substituted for Arnoldo Columbo. Nestor Hug might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nestor Hug ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68th minute Nestor Hug shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Onagoity AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Al Plato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaudencio Gervaso came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 91st minute of play forced Onagoity AFC's goalkeeper Gaudencio Gervaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Cayo in the 96th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
