Juan Sebastián Puig's late challenge caught a Toni Kroos MGZ™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Sebastián Puig helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Ye Kang Zhan made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Ye Kang Zhan to make any attempt to save it. An unexpected shot in the 63rd minute by Cristian Sancho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Hu Yao Nan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Hu Yao Nan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hu Yao Nan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hu Yao Nan in the 74th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Hu Yao Nan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ye Kang Zhan. The goal made the score 0-2. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Ye Kang Zhan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 88th minute, Hu Yao Nan made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Toni Kroos MGZ™ throughout the match.
