But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Tomas Illescas put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Germán Figueres. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Eugeniusz Milko tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paquito Rey took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugeniusz Milko in the 29th minute. Eugeniusz Milko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Roldán Quijana kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boleslaw Pacholewski during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugeniusz Milko in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. After 74 minutes, Eugeniusz Milko made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germán Figueres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugeniusz Milko in the 81st minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, S.D NARCEA's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Germán Figueres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Calisto Zaplana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Calisto Zaplana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Germán Figueres made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.D NARCEA's goalkeeper Germán Figueres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, S.D NARCEA's Seve Coello got a free kick in the 96th minute. There was no doubt that S.D NARCEA were the better team. S.D NARCEA's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
