In the 3rd minute, Martin Berriotxoa made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eron Patiño kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Eron Patiño hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olo Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute, Arrosko Rojas made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 17th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olo Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Zamora in the 23rd minute of play. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's Olo Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 25th minute of play. Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Teodoro Zamora capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Teodoro Zamora really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. 30 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Berriotxoa came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrosko Rojas in the 34th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Felix Luque. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Martin Berriotxoa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teodoro Zamora. After 44 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of C.D. Ciudad de Soria booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Gaona didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Berriotxoa came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute, Martin Berriotxoa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arrosko Rojas in the 59th minute of the match. C.D. Ciudad de Soria made a substitution. Qwinton Ricoy replaced Diego Gandia. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's Gabriel Redondo was substituted for Arrosko Rojas. In the 72nd minute, Joel Gaona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute Gabriel Redondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the game, C.D. Ciudad de Soria's Gabriel Redondo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
