Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Axel Tasis got the match started through his kick off. In the 2nd minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 4th minute, Maleta's Horácio Santos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, Carlinhos Lopez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlinhos Lopez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. A collision led to Maleta getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Raphael de Sena hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Carballo during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Maleta booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Efrain Moruga's late challenge caught a Maleta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Efrain Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Maleta booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kiko Velasco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horácio Santos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Benito Sanz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 30th play minute Horácio Santos came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Benito Sanz. 3-0. Lautaro Puig scored 3-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fausto Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Horácio Santos came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Maleta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horácio Santos couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlinhos Lopez in the 43rd minute of play. After 44 minutes, Alan Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Maleta players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Lautaro Puig ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fausto Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horácio Santos made a kick off. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute, Horácio Santos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maleta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. The Maleta fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Maleta's Walmyr Matorin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horácio Santos in the 65th minute of play. Carlinhos Lopez scored 6-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 72 minutes into the game, Carlinhos Lopez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-2. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute, Horácio Santos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maleta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-2. Walmyr Matorin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute Carlinhos Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
