Sebastiano Rossi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. After 12 played minutes MERAVIGLIOSI SOSNOWIEC got a freekick which was hit by Franco Baresi. After having played for 14 minutes, Facundo Cadaval managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Facundo Cadaval was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastiano Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Leoz to maneuver through the defense. Sebastiano Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 27th minute of play. MERAVIGLIOSI SOSNOWIEC's Sebastiano Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 28th minute of play. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sylwester Kempka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastiano Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of MERAVIGLIOSI SOSNOWIEC's Sebastiano Rossi. Sebastiano Rossi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Joel Gaona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastiano Rossi was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sylwester Kempka made a kick off. Roch Zuraw was slow to take the kick. During this time MERAVIGLIOSI SOSNOWIEC's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Mexico's goalie and right to Remus Burtescu. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Mexico's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Cadaval to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute Roch Zuraw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MERAVIGLIOSI SOSNOWIEC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roch Zuraw in the 74th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roch Zuraw in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The MERAVIGLIOSI SOSNOWIEC fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when MERAVIGLIOSI SOSNOWIEC's Roch Zuraw looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Sebastiano Rossi in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, MERAVIGLIOSI SOSNOWIEC's Dobromir Miazga got a free kick in the 89th minute. MERAVIGLIOSI SOSNOWIEC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Mexico had controlled the match.
