Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stojko Živko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Neno Perazić hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 12th minute of play forced Maksimir's goalkeeper Stojko Živko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stojko Živko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Maksimir's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Stojko Živko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Maksimir's Tonko Grković. But to his dismay, Tonko Grković quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Maksimir's Stojko Živko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 28th minute of play. Sergej Knez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stojko Živko came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Felix Montenegro. But to his dismay, Felix Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When Oliver Ganza fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maksimir's protests and gave Oliver Ganza a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Maksimir getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Oliver Ganza hit a great ball. After 35 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stojko Živko was left in no man's land by his defense there! Stojko Živko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Stojko Živko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergej Knez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Tonko Grković made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Maksimir getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Roman Vidović hit a great ball. Stojko Živko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Adolf Tarbuk hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Dobriša Alić hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Stojko Živko acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 59th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Zorita. Sergej Knez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Stojko Živko. That made the score 1-5 after 64 minutes of play. Daniel Zorita scored 1-6 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stojko Živko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 79 played minutes Maksimir got a freekick which was hit by Neno Perazić. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after Maksimir's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 88th minute of the match, Felix Montenegro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Stojko Živko was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Maksimir's Stojko Živko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Maksimir from getting a goal against them. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho, in the 90th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.
