Jeremias Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute ADM Taquaras were awarded a corner. Áron Bódog went to the cornerflag to take it. ADM Taquaras's Malcolm Westerberg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marco Day in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 21 minutes into the match, ADM Taquaras's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Jeremias Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Bierhoff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oliver Bierhoff might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Day. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oliver Bierhoff ran back to his position shaking his head. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by USA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Áron Bódog was slow to take the kick. During this time ADM Taquaras's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Áron Bódog got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marco Day quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Moreno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Cassius Byrne made the kick off in the second half. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. ADM Taquaras's Nestor Soeiro was substituted for Radowit Dziuma. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denílson Tepedino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to ADM Taquaras getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Nestor Soeiro hit a great ball.
