Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Zust in the 25th minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Łukasz Fabiański tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Łukasz Fabiański managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Victoriano Movilla was slow to take the kick. During this time Azulgranas's players had a chance to rest. In the 92nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Azulgranas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After having played for 95 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Azulgranas to leave the ground with a draw.
