The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Nicolas Prokš in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomáš Bydžovský sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the match, FC Slovan Liberec's Zdeněk Stoklasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicolas Prokš having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Slovan Liberec had won after a very even match.
