Lennard Finkenrath dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franz Neumann, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After some careless play in the Hertha 1969 defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lennard Finkenrath. The Hertha 1969 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lennard Finkenrath should have stopped the shot. Lennard Finkenrath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 25th minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Franz Neumann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Lennard Finkenrath in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute Damien Narten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennard Finkenrath having to interfere. The supporters of Hertha 1969 booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Franz Neumann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Hertha 1969 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
