Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Tomas Illescas made the kick off and thus started the match. After 10 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicanor Loiola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 15 minutes into the game, Baykal Acabey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BASEL FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. The supporters of Venezuela booed when BASEL FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baykal Acabey didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BASEL FC's Nicanor Loiola was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Niculae Fărcășan came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihail Dumitras in the 28th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihail Dumitras, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihail Dumitras in the 40th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niculae Fărcășan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Niculae Fărcășan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Nicanor Loiola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, BASEL FC's Baykal Acabey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Baykal Acabey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 62 played minutes BASEL FC got a freekick which was hit by Robby Darwis. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicanor Loiola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute Baykal Acabey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baykal Acabey in the 83rd minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BASEL FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 88th minute. Yaris Kusumadilaga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Mihail Dumitras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Mihail Dumitras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Venezuela players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented BASEL FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
