In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Roncourt's goalkeeper Brian Fumey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Brian Fumey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when J.P. Kapar tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 24th minute of the match Roncourt got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Horácio Larreta ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Marc Kazmierczak in the 29th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Roncourt's goal looked a bit too open when Milagros Fraga came free, but Brian Fumey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Brian Fumey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Brian Fumey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 36th minute of play. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 40th minute. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Judas Bricaud made a throw-in in the 43rd minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Judas Bricaud made in the 51st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Horácio Larreta immediately put the ball in play. After a defensive mix-up in Roncourt's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brian Fumey came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 53 minutes, Marouane Kiefer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Roncourt and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 53 played minutes Roncourt got a freekick which was hit by Marouane Kiefer. Judas Bricaud hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Roncourt made a substitution. Léon Cailleaux replaced Jean-Marc Kazmierczak. Judas Bricaud kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Brian Fumey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. If J.P. Kapar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Berganza to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Roncourt's goalkeeper Brian Fumey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling J.P. Kapar in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's attentive Alonso Berganza managed to snatch the ball when Judas Bricaud made a throw-in in the 91st minute of the game. In the 93rd minute, Peru's Rafael Gallo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
