Lars Köhler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 5th minute of play. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 7th minute. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lars Köhler in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Mexico booed when Buffalo Bills was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wyatt Shepherd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tor Hjeltman in the 17th minute of the match. Buffalo Bills's Lars Köhler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 19th minute of play. Lars Köhler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 22nd minute of play. In the 28th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Köhler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wyatt Snow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 67th minute of play forced Buffalo Bills's goalkeeper Lars Köhler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
