The supporters of Alex Team booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Villa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Iacob Nistor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Alex Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afriz Cheng to maneuver through the defense. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. Niculae Ştercă's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niculae Ştercă helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th match minute, Alex Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niculae Ştercă to maneuver through the defense. After 21 minutes of play, Honduras's Sebastian Villa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iacob Nistor was left in no man's land by his defense there! 27 minutes into the game, Manuel Arruda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alex Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. Manuel Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Milagros Cabal hit a great ball. When Sebastian Villa came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Alex Team defense, Sebastian Villa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iacob Nistor. The Alex Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iacob Nistor should have stopped the shot. Lautaro Navarro was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Gică Boerescu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gică Boerescu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gică Boerescu to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Cornel Bodiu made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. In the 54th minute, Gică Boerescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iacob Nistor was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. If Moises Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Manuel Arruda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lautaro Navarro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. The throw-in from Cornel Bodiu in the 60th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Luca Espinar. In the 61st minute Sebastian Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Nistor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moises Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute, Sebastian Villa made a precise shot to the right of Iacob Nistor. Alex Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. In the 79th match minute, Alex Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afriz Cheng to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Nistor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Iacob Nistor successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match was over Honduras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Alex Team throughout the match.
