Sang Gama fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Lekko Spoceni's Sang Gama nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Marc-André Van Bastén scored 4-1 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 71st minute Marc-André Van Bastén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lekko Spoceni's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Desiderio Ibañez in the 72nd minute. Wojciech Malicki made a great header on Lekko Spoceni's corner, it was just that Panama's Marcos Cotilla managed to reach the ball for a save.
