Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 5 minutes General Velásquez's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Henry Tucknott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo Johans hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. General Velásquez's Henry Tucknott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Anselmo Johans:s penalty. After having played for 21 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Vicente Squella got free with Julio Vera in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Jorge Vicente Squella succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Tucknott having to interfere. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henry Tucknott read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Tucknott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when General Velásquez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teofan Bozadzhiyski didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Tucknott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Vicente Squella in the 43rd minute of play. Johny De Raeijmaecker charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johny De Raeijmaecker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes General Velásquez got a freekick which was hit by Johny De Raeijmaecker. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 45th minute of play forced General Velásquez's goalkeeper Henry Tucknott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jorge Vicente Squella made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, General Velásquez's Jorge Vicente Squella made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to General Velásquez getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Renato Goycolea hit a great ball. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by General Velásquez's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Zorita during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. General Velásquez were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
