MORPH's Marco Lixandro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 5th minute of play. Tomas Illescas scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Lixandro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marco Lixandro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when MORPH's Gustavo-Hernán Bareiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to MORPH getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Bernardino Santikurtz hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Froilan Mosen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Gustavo-Hernán Bareiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Gustavo-Hernán Bareiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo-Hernán Bareiro got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off.
