A hard shot by Gentil Cruz from long distance, 17 minutes into the match, got Jonathan Ferrant's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Venezuela booed when pianurese was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Caetano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Sidónio Ribas managed to get in a good position for a shot. pianurese's supporters rose to their feet, but Sidónio Ribas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sidónio Ribas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 30 minute of play. In the 53rd minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. pianurese's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 58th minute, Saúl Bulhosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Dag Ekström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gentil Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. 80 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Saúl Bulhosa came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Saúl Bulhosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Salvador Gisbert hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saúl Bulhosa in the 95th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
