The audience thought a goal was coming when Aaron Kvist got free with Jacobo Nores in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 22 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Kvist came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 minutes, Primitivo Escribano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraguay and the Leeds United FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Primitivo Escribano hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 24 played minutes Leeds United FC got a freekick which was hit by Kennet Bergqvist. 26 minutes into the game, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elliott Levander made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Kennet Bergqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacobo Nores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. The throw-in from Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aaron Kvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Alan Campos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Leeds United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Lindsten didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kennet Bergqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Kvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After 75 played minutes Leeds United FC got a freekick which was hit by Mikael Larsfelt. After 77 minutes, Börje Lindsten mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leeds United FC and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Kvist in the 80th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primitivo Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Sonny Classon hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After 87 minutes of play, Leeds United FC's Aaron Kvist made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacobo Nores was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 91 minutes, Kennet Bergqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leeds United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kennet Bergqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Leeds United FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
