The referee showed Miguel Miralles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th minute of the match Americo Guillen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla skillfully saved the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Isidoro Sarmiento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomás Pepillo. Deportivo de Coba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isidoro Sarmiento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo de Coba's zone, Abraham Alguacil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Deportivo de Coba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. After 29 played minutes Deportivo de Coba got a freekick which was hit by Americo Guillen. In the 31st minute, Norberto Giro made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Tomás Pepillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 36th minute of the match. Deportivo de Coba's Tomás Pepillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 48th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Berganza made a kick off. The supporters of Panama booed when Deportivo de Coba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Guerau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Miralles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Norberto Giro hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florentino Dominix in the 70th minute of play. 73 minutes in the game Dylan Sarmiento did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tomas Berganza. After 95 played minutes Deportivo de Coba got a freekick which was hit by Americo Guillen. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
