Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Waldir Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amaury Hulsen in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 10th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Waldir Gaúcho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Waldir Gaúcho threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 19 minutes Valhalla Time's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Waldir Gaúcho was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Gaúcho having to interfere. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amaury Hulsen's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Waldir Gaúcho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Waldir Gaúcho in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Amaury Hulsen put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amaury Hulsen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Amaury Hulsen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Aca Larroque charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amaury Hulsen in the 67th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waldir Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Waldir Gaúcho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After 79 played minutes Valhalla Time got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Henrico. After a rather tough play, Valhalla Time's Francisco Shantala got a free kick in the 79th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Valhalla Time's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Waldir Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
