In the 14th minute, Walmyr Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Maleta fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Maleta's Horácio Santos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Maleta getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Carlinhos Lopez hit a great ball. Jacobo Nores didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Walmyr Matorin went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaime Pardo in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fausto Sá prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

A collision led to Maleta getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Carlinhos Lopez hit a great ball. In the 55th minute, José Augusto Koehler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 55th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Maleta. Fausto Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th minute of the game Horácio Santos made a throw-in which Tiago Gabriel Leme played forward. A collision led to Maleta getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Carlinhos Lopez hit a great ball. Horácio Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Maleta getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Tiago Gabriel Leme hit a great ball. Walmyr Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Carlinhos Lopez's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlinhos Lopez helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Maleta's Carlinhos Lopez got a free kick in the 86th minute. Paraguay's Alan Campos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Horácio Santos in the 90 minute of the game. In the 93rd minute, Kiko Velasco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Paraguay were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
