Olivér Marty ran back to his position shaking his head. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olivér Marty in the 33rd minute of play. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dawid Bulkiewicz having to interfere. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olivér Marty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Felix Luque hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olivér Marty to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dawid Bulkiewicz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There was no doubt that Mexico were the better team. Mexico's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
