Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Horácio Santos made the kick off and thus started the match. When Jaime Pardo came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Pardo couldn't finish the play. Jaime Pardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Prats kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. The supporters of Maleta booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Zoido didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Horácio Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Matorin in the 24th minute of play. Tiago Gabriel Leme's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Gabriel Leme helped the player get up and apologised. After 30 played minutes Maleta got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Gabriel Leme. Fausto Sá came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. But to his dismay, Hector Covarrubias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 45th match minute, Maleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raphael de Sena to maneuver through the defense. After 47 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Zoido. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Pardo made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Walmyr Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Alan Campos got a free kick in the 60th minute. Horácio Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Horácio Santos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Fausto Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Primitivo Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walmyr Matorin got free with Jacobo Nores in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute, José Augusto Koehler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fausto Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 89th minute of play. Carlinhos Lopez's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlinhos Lopez helped the player get up and apologised. After 95 played minutes Maleta got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Lopez. When the referee ended the match the Paraguay players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
