Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhu Ao Ying, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zhu Ao Ying to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michel Preudhomme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michel Preudhomme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 75th minute of play forced quem me dá 1 milhão euros's goalkeeper Michel Preudhomme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michel Preudhomme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhu Ao Ying in the 83rd minute of play.
