Dylan Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingmar Kracke in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Resistencia Tayrona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Stanislav Dvorskiy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Resistencia Tayrona FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Abraham Alguacil was slow to take the kick. During this time Panama's players had a chance to rest. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Hickman in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislav Dvorskiy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stanislav Dvorskiy. Resistencia Tayrona FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Berganza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Panama's Abraham Alguacil got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Felipe Ros hit a great ball. Abraham Alguacil might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stanislav Dvorskiy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abraham Alguacil ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Hickman, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benedict Baird went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When Ingmar Kracke came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Resistencia Tayrona FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingmar Kracke couldn't finish the play. Panama's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when Ingmar Kracke scored to the left of an out of position Marcos Cotilla, making the score, 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benedict Baird was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanislav Dvorskiy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingmar Kracke in the 60th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Ospetsu Villagarcia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Resistencia Tayrona FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. The supporters of Panama booed when Resistencia Tayrona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ospetsu Villagarcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Resistencia Tayrona FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Ospetsu Villagarcia hit a great ball. In the 65th minute, Abraham Alguacil fired a really elegant long shot, but Stanislav Dvorskiy threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. The supporters of Panama booed when Resistencia Tayrona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Rioja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stanislav Dvorskiy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 94th minute of the match. Resistencia Tayrona FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
