The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Edmundo Espiga fired away a shot on goal. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trent Cuevas having to interfere. When Sebastian Villa fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Sebastian Villa a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a free kick in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kleanthis Kostakoglou in the 23rd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Kleanthis Kostakoglou managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Schalke 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Kleanthis Kostakoglou was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Sebastian Villa came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute, Edmundo Espiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trent Cuevas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Kleanthis Kostakoglou kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Navarro should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trent Cuevas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Schalke 04's Trent Cuevas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save FC Schalke 04 from getting a goal against them. Luca Espinar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Neal Collins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. 54 minutes in the game Conrad Bowen did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Kleanthis Kostakoglou. 55 minutes into the match, František Spousta notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to FC Schalke 04 getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Conrad Bowen hit a great ball. Edmundo Espiga scored 2-3 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Trent Cuevas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of FC Schalke 04 booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Espinar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Ocampo's late challenge caught a FC Schalke 04's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Ocampo helped the player get up and apologised. After 74 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Ocampo. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Kleanthis Kostakoglou managed to get in a good position for a shot. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 91 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Trent Cuevas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Honduras's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
