The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Waldir Gaúcho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 37th minute. Maximiliano Escribano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Waldir Gaúcho made a huge save. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Waldir Gaúcho came out and tried to block the shot, but Maximiliano Escribano slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 39th minute.
