Walmyr Matorin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Walmyr Matorin slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 61st minute. After 64 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. Carlinhos Lopez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 78th match minute, Maleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Gabriel Leme to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute Walmyr Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Horácio Santos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A collision led to Maleta getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Walmyr Matorin hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Matorin in the 88th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Walmyr Matorin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 0-5.
