Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yin Cheng Han showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Yin Cheng Han in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 20 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Urizar came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Sueiro in the 22nd minute of the match. Fabian Baldaliso kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente del Río's goalkeeper Yin Cheng Han, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Machado Santianes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yin Cheng Han made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 31st minute. With a little luck, Independiente del Río's Yin Cheng Han got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Independiente del Río's goalkeeper Yin Cheng Han had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Facundo Cadaval. After 37 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Felix Luque. After some careless play in the Independiente del Río defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yin Cheng Han. The Independiente del Río fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yin Cheng Han should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Yin Cheng Han tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 53rd minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yin Cheng Han saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Independiente del Río getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Jakub Wejta hit a great ball. 56 minutes into the match, Independiente del Río's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Yin Cheng Han reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Independiente del Río's Yin Cheng Han. Yin Cheng Han was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 63 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yin Cheng Han. Independiente del Río's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Gaona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 67th minute of play forced Independiente del Río's goalkeeper Yin Cheng Han to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Independiente del Río defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yin Cheng Han. The Independiente del Río fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yin Cheng Han should have stopped the shot. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Emanuel Sueiro sent off a good shot on target. In the 85th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yin Cheng Han saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes in the game, Luca Zorita dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. A collision led to Independiente del Río getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Jakub Wejta hit a great ball. Michael Ayon kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 93rd minute of the match Joel Gaona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yin Cheng Han showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mexico fully deserved thier win.
