Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabio Maore made a kick off. After 53 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabio Maore in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Los Irrompibles getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Volker Gleicke hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Los Irrompibles had won after a very even match.
