With a little luck, Žminj ONK's Grgur Mađar got control of the ball when Monty Rogers tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 46th minute, USA's Monty Rogers ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Grgur Mađar. Grgur Mađar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. Žminj ONK made a substitution. Birsel Nasip replaced Stanko Jertec. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Mcdonald in the 54th minute of play forced Žminj ONK's goalkeeper Grgur Mađar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boro Bonačić might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Day. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boro Bonačić ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Boro Bonačić got free with Marco Day in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
